You
are not alone! Bad keypad
We are
the only company world wide installing a new RF
shield in these phones We have repaired plenty of phones
previously fixed by other companies and the factory. PLEASE NOTE: Choppy transmit cannot be heard on the phone that is broken. If all or most of your cordless phones have audio problems then you may have a problem with choppy transmit in the base unit. This would not effect outside calls using the base unit because there is no radio involved. |

Take a close look at what a NEW keypad looks like after 1 year. |

This is a picture of a KX-TGA400b keypad sent in for repair. It was purchased new just 1 year earlier at Staples. We recently
repaired a 6 month old Panasonic factory refurbished phone. The
keypad was working... IF you hit the keys hard
enough. |
| We just wanted to send along a HUGE "thank you" to
Priority One Business Communications, Inc for making this product. Five years ago we purchased for our small office the complete system, which included the base phone and eight KX-TGA400B portables. And ever since, due to the keypad problem, we've had nothing but trouble and lost productivity. The number "1" button was always the first to go, and sending phones back for "service" at $80-$150 only resulted in the problem coming back less than a year later. At one point, after discovering the root cause of the issue, I attempted using bits of aluminum foil to make better contact, and even purchased a $20 "keypad repair kit" to try and fix the problem. But under normal phone usage, the conductive material in the kit flaked off making the problem even worse. I'm glad I ran across the P1BC store on eBay (and later the pb1c.com website). Otherwise we never would have known that all the stock keypads for this model phone are defective from the factory, and all that gunk you find sticking to the PCB comes from the flimsy material the factory used to make the stock keypads. Had we known that P1BC made this product, then we could have saved at least $400 sending these phones in to the Panasonic ServiCenter for “repairs”! It’s any wonder why Panasonic didn’t just re-manufacturer the keypads in order to fix the problem (or else buy a quantity from you guys for their repair center). Anyway, all of us here are relieved to finally finally FINALLY get this annoyance fixed once and for all. Thanks again! With Kindest Regards, Chris Balbontin |
