Executone system KSU descriptions
Encore The Encore system came in 3 sizes. The 616 and 1232 have a metal box with a power supply built in along the bottom. The 2464 has a separate power supply that plugs in the side with a short fat cable. They are all card cage systems meaning circuit cards slide in to add additional lines or phone ports. All the phone model numbers are7 digits and start with 25125XX

Equity III (Flat pack, white plastic) The Equity III only has one system. It can handle up to 5 phone lines and 12 telephones. The telephones are white with a black keypad area. On the very right side there is a red hold button, 5 buttons above that with red led lights built into them and then 10 smaller, silver plastic buttons above that. The phone model number is 2312501 (there is only 1 Equity III phone)

Contel CX (Gray metal box) The smaller systems (408, 512, 816) Are a flat pack that hangs on the wall, about 3-4 inches thick. The 408 and 816 have a small black cartridge in the center of the KSU that should say "Do Not Remove" The 512 does not have this cartridge. The larger system is much bigger (over 12 inches deep) but still hangs on the wall. The phones all have 7 digit model numbers that start with 2992XX

IDS The 42 has 1 or 2 thin, flat plastic boxes that hang on the wall. The front is not completely flat being thicker at the top. Most are dark gray but a few earlier versions were tan. The 84,102,228, etc.. are all large heavy black metal boxes usually with a light gray flat metal cover. These larger systems all use circuit cards to expand the number of phones and lines. The 84 and 108 have the power supply built in on the right side, and the 228,432,648 all have the power supplies attached to both sides. Note: the 84 uses different cards then the 108 and higher. The 84 cards have 8 phone ports and 4 line ports on each card. The phones can be Isoetec digital, Executone, or M-series the model numbers are all 5 digits and start with 82XXX for the Isoetec/Executone digital, or 84XXX for the M-series phones.
