The Barclay
Enterprise Attack Timeline
Note:
Barclay Enterprises is now deceptively making copies of all our pages while
leaving the link to make it appear you are viewing actual pages on our
site. Visit:
www.p1bc.com/barclay.htm for the truth.
Some dates may not be exactly correct.
We provide as close a date as we can based on the resources and
recollection we have now.
Date unknown Some time before 2006, Barclay
Enterprises illegally claims to be an FCC Authorized telephone repair
facility.
2/10/2006 (a Friday) We list our first repair
service auction on eBay. Barclay cancels his repair auction early and
re-lists it with the flat out lie that Panasonic had redesigned the
keypad to eliminate the common problems.
2/12/2006 (Sunday) "Someone" reported our listing for offering a
battery for sale with the repair and eBay removed our listing within 2
days! An unusually quick response time from eBay (for a minor issue)
even if our listing was reported within minutes of it's first
appearance.
2/12/2006 We re-list our
auction
2/13/2006 Our auction is again
removed for being in the wrong category. Ebay's software suggested the
category we were in. Then again later that same day for having a link to
our web site. Only a power seller with a direct phone number to eBay
could have complained about minor details in our auction listings to
have them removed this quickly. Barclay had power seller status at that
time.
2/20/2006 Barclay lists a new
repair auction warning people away from using companies that are not FCC
Authorized to repair phones (A complete lie). There was never any
such thing as FCC Authorized repair.
3/9/2006
We start receiving harassing automated phone calls to our toll-free
phone line (a crime) from rotating phone numbers all in
California. (home of Barclay Enterprises) Barclay's eBay
advertisements had been quoting direct text from our web site. The same
web site that provided our toll free number but asked people not to call
unless absolutely necessary as telephone calls disrupted us from our
work.
4/2006 We report Barclay
Enterprises false claims of being FCC Authorized in a "bad guy"
forum posting on Sundance
Communications web site. Barclay responds with smoke and mirrors and
never provides any argument or evidence to back up their claims. Barclay
posts forged scans of long expired FCC registrations on their web
site as so called "proof" in an attempt to fool customers.
4/2006 Barclay creates his "Franken Phone"
graphics attacking our membrane keypad with false claims that it is
completely unnecessary and can only break your phone. Barclay
continues to promote the lie that Panasonic redesigned their keypad to
eliminate the original problems.
5/2006
After we alert Barclay that we plan to report their illegal advertising
to the FTC Barclay Enterprises changes their wording from "FCC
Authorized" to "FCC Registered" then later to "Has been
FCC Registered" proving that they knew claims of being "FCC
Authorized" or even just "FCC Registered" were false.
6/2006 After not hearing from the FTC Barclay
changes his advertisements back to "FCC Authorized".
11/22/2006 We report Barclay Enterprises for
false advertising to the Better Business Bureau.
12/25/2006 Barclay changes their claim of being
"FCC Authorized" to "Grantee
of the FCC's
Equipment Authorization System since 1989" and
removes the forged scans of FCC registrations. Still holding onto
their FCC lie however they can!
