If you do not need 100 or more phones in your office, then you don't need to look at the Definity systems and telephones because this is one large phone system. There is basically nothing this system won't do, just don't expect to install, service, or program the Definity without some help. Most Definity system owners have service contracts with Avaya authorized service centers.

We can repair most of the Definity system phones but we do not get into repairing other components such as the service pack cards.

There is a common problem with the newest Definity display phones (the 6XXX series). The display pivots and is held in place with pieces of flexible plastic housing that rub together. Unfortunately these plastic parts break very easily and then the display just flops around. We have a way to repair these parts with a little more strength. We also have replacement buttons, display housings, displays, handsets, and many other parts.

The 8XXX series Definity phones look a lot like the Avaya Merlin Legend (MLX) phones (or is that the other way around?) Luckily they do not share the common keypad problem that the MLX have. So far we have not found any common problems with the 8000 series Definity phones.

The 7XXX series Definity phones look a lot like the Old Merlin Classic phones. These phones are a bit too old and most Definity system owners have long since replaced them.

If you are unaware, AT&T transferred their phone manufacturing side over to Lucent and focused on providing phone service, long distance and cellular service. Later Lucent sold the phone manufacturing to Avaya who now handles all AT&T and Lucent phones.
